Everyone has many tastes, but many will agree music can be powerful and inspire many to do things. I love listening to music while coding, especially working on my coding projects. Music can be powerful depending on how you use it. I have quite the varied taste, some come from games like RPGs in which I place myself in my own world. I like to work on games and really put myself into my work so music like this helps. Then there's other genres in which I completely lose myself. Depends on the mood I go for. I can pretty much listen to anything, given that it at least has some sort of point, musical interest, or otherwise. Though with genres like Country, I sort of care less for because my step dad had me listen to it WAY too much - though some exceptions are still great to listen to. But rock and the like cannot bore me no matter how much I listen to it. So favorite genres: Game: RPG, Adventure, misc others Band: Rock, Metal, and some others I cannot name at the moment but it'll come to me. How about you? Edit: Feel free to leave as much details as possible. Such as even examples.
Fav bands are Disturbed, Dragonforce, and Blind Guardian :V I'm weird Edit: Can't forget the OST of this lovely show vvvvvvvv
I prefer folk/alternative to when i'm browsing the web or on the bus, preferring something lyrically meaningful rather than "BABY GIRL TONIGHT" x100

I like nearly all types of music, I've grown up in a family of DJs and music producers, so my tastes are quite varied. I do have some favourites though! Music Genre: EDM, any sub-genre of EDM if the music's good (fuk Skrillex). If I'm feeling mellow I go listen to Adele, of all people. Bands/Producers: Definitely every alias in Lapfox Trax. Been listening to them non-stop for a while now. Panda Eyes, Teminite, a mulititude of others. Games: I don't get to play many paid things because no money har har, but I play League of Legends most of the time. On Steam I tend to play FPS or 3rd Person Shooter games i.e Warframe. On Xbox (360), fighting games are my all-time favourite genre so I play a lot of Soul Calibur and Tekken there. Been trying out some 2D ones recently, King of Fighters, Persona 4 Arena and such. Dust: An Elysian Tail is also very fun.
I love music that makes me feel... inspired, regardless if it's because of the rhythm, the beat, the lyrics, whatever. That's mainly why I prefer genres like pop, rock and eletronic. To be fair, I'm leniant to hear nearly anything, but, if I had to pick 3 genres, those'd be the ones. If I had to pick games in which I had to hear the whole soundtrack in a row, the 2 that come in mind are Mass Effect and Life Is Strange. Mass Effect has some really fitting, energetic and even rather inspiring soundtrack. My personal favourite one's the Suicidal Mission on Mass Effect 2. I love that music. Life Is Strange has some really calm and, in my opinion, beautiful soundtrack. It's simple, mostly without vocals and it's amazingly calm. Surely there's other amazing game soundtracks, but those 2 are my prime favourites.
I love pretty much anything Rock/metal to all kinds of Electronic. Some of my favorites are; Anything under Lapfox Trax Feint Aero Chord Blackhole Metallica Megadeth Alice in Chains Periphery Born of Osiris So many more, gosh I love music!
Game: FPS, RPG, Action, Platformer. I'm currently playing Xonotic and DustAET. Music: Underground style electronic music, Vulp Vibe/Lapfox Trax, Wolfgun, and other bandcamp stuff.
I listen to a wide variety of music honestly. Tends to be whatever suits my mood at the time. Breaking Benjamin, Daft Punk, Frank Sinatra...you name it.
I used to be a lot more into conventional music, like your hip-hop and your rap and whatnot, but now I've kinda sifted into a more rock-heavy zone, and that, along with a lot of video game music, is what I generally listen to. I still like stuff like classical and whatnot, but it's mostly rooooooock. Favorite bands: Queens of the Stone Age Radiohead Cage The Elephant Circa Survive Tool Death From Above 1979 ... and pretty much anything that can give me a good listen, although the above are the ones I listen to frequently.
