    HuniePop and a few other adult games have received notice from Valve to remove adult content or face removal. These game don't come with adult content, but you can modify files to see it. Have the devs received notice?

    There's an article on TechRaptor but I can't post it.

    If the devs received the notice, they will sure to respond swiftly as soon as possible. No one would like to have Team Amorous' games removed.

    The difference is we don't tell people how to uncensor the game on the Steam platform itself, whereas all these games did by themselves (eg. by means of a sticky).

    But, not everyone who got the warning actually did. Lupiesoft got a warning and they've said they don't put nor advertise that content on steam. They even accused steam of singling out anime-style games in general just for having "that look."

    But, the problem is, though, that Valve already told them to remove their uncensored patches from steam, which most, if not all have. Also, Valve never bothered to update their guidelines before these notices were sent out.

    And then there's the fact that House Party is still on steam and it's like 80 times worse than any of the Sakura games or Hunie Pop. And what about CD Projekt Red and the Witcher series? Sakrua Dungeon has milder stuff than that, and I don't hear Valve yelling at them and naked breasts is one of the major selling points of that series.

    What Valve is doing is performing a anime witch hunt and it's BS, quite frankly.

    Are we 100% sure that's the cause of Valve's mails though.

    It would be nice if Valve themselves offered any clarity rather than... well, being Valve.

    There is a difference between nudity and explicit sex. Uncensored, Amorous falls under explicit sex when you get to the, whats in a name, sexscenes. Most AAA games also have a ESRB rating, which overrule some of Steams guidelines.

    But that's not at all what Valve said. Valve said;
    "HuniePop violates the rules & guidelines for pornographic content on Steam and will be removed from the store unless the game is updated to remove said content."

    THE GAME. Not the forums. Not anything unrelated to the game. So unless it's a major communication failure (since Valve not unlikely) they did rule out that 'cause'.

    The Steam guidelines are in effect for the whole platform, including the community aspect. So sharing a patch on the Steam forums to uncensor a game that can be downloaded of the Steam servers, is considered a breach of guidelines. There has been a reason to my paranoia on the Steam forums and beyond. Better yet, I wish we would have simply never allowed the NSFW cheat there in the first place.

    But again, nothing in Valve's reply even hints at that being the cause. Infact they specifically seem to refer to "the game is updated".
    If that really is the cause their actual initial take-down order was downright deceitful.
