A build has been pushed to live containing a working version for both Mac and Linux (x64)! Use the launcher like normal to update the build :)

In order to actually play Amorous you'll have to manually run the game from the terminal (just like the launcher), until I get a change to actually update the launcher. Sorry for this inconvenience, but at least you can play, right? :p

To do this, wait for the launcher to finish updating. Open a new terminal and type:
    Code:
    cd <launcher location>/games/amorous/mac
    sudo chmod +x ./Amorous.Game.Unix
    sudo ./Amorous.Game.Unix
If you are on Linux: replace "mac" with "linux" above, obviously :p

After the last line, the game should start :)

In future runs, you do not have to type the chmod-line, that's a one-time only thing.

Game still crashes even if I run it as described here.

    Error log: http://pastebin.com/mRpbbhMf

I think there is problem with file names (GUI/Gui), on windows this will be ignored, but linux/unix systems are case-sensitive and that directory or file will not be found.

    Dear Lennian,
This method does not seem to work, for upon downloading the game, I was given an EXE, not a UNIX version of the game. I do not know if this is an error or not, and I thank you for your time.
    Sincerely,
    Sverran

Is this supposed to be written in one line or multiple?
because i tried both and it always says it is not a directory, but that might be me being stupid

It looks like the problem is caused by case sensitivity in linux/unix systems. The game looks for some files in directories GUI and Gui and only GUI is present. I renamed it to Gui and this not worked. So I verified files and the launcher downloded the GUI directory again. So there is both (GUI and Gui) now and the game finally launches.

It crashed after entering the club, the problem again seems to be with file names. In the log is: Could not load asset Assets/NPC/ClubInsideB/B Pants! Error: The content file was not found. When I check the directory the file is there, but the name is B pants.xnb and not B Pants.xnb. Windows are not case sensitive, linux is, so for linux that file does not exist and the game crashes.

Thanks for pointing that out, I'll write a test for the game to make sure case-sensitivity is correct.

    Hmm, whenever I enter
"cd desktop/games/amorous/mac" (since my desktop is where I unpacked the folder), all I get is a message saying "no such file or directory. What am I doing wrong?

You would have to drag the folder onto the terminal after cd

umm.. yeah I have typed this in as many ways as possible and it still says "HEY MOTHER FUCKER STILL ENTER A VALID FUCKING CODE" seriously. Can be a little less descriptive and just say and easier way of launching it.

    sorry for the bothering you.

cool I've gotten it installed, the only problem is when I'm prompted to start the game, it says "No application knows how to open this file" or something like that. I downloaded mono? What else am I missing?

    happened to me for awhile until I found out what to do... first you type the EXACT things after you drag the folder;
cd <folder should say FurPowered.Client.LinuxMac>/games/amorous/mac . Then it should say mac with a folder on top of the terminal app. Then type
    chmod +x ./Amorous.Game.Unix .
    Then the last step
    ./Amorous.Game.Unix .

I have read over every thread with the issue of "no application can open this" and so on, and i have not found any solutions. I installed the stuff and got to the launch windows and it game me that error code, and when I type this new stuff:
    cd <launcher location>/games/amorous/mac
    chmod +x ./Amorous.Game.Unix
    ./Amorous.Game.Unix
It tells me no such directory is found. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

So i downloaded it and got mono, and everything needed to run this on linux.
But when i select to play the game from the menu, it gives me the fallowing message.

"Cannot open assembly '/home/mike/Documents/FurPowered/games/amorous/linux_x64/Amorous.Game.Unix': File does not contain a valid CIL image."

I'm not sure what the issue is.
I downloaded mono, and for some reason, it's just not working.
It even says mono is not installed, but i know i installed it.

I'm not sure what is up, but i figured i would post about it.

Edit: You cannot launch the game from the launcher, navigate to the directory as per instructions.

I tried both, it gives me the same error.
I think i may need a different distribution of Linux.
Maybe a 32bit version of Linux.

There is no 32-bit version of Linux at this time. Why would you even have a 32-bit Linux?
